Reader's Question: Can I Lose Weight by Walking on a Treadmill?
You certainly can. But it's really hard work and you'll see results too little too late. For heaven's sake, please stop adding to the carbon emissions by using a treadmill to walk! If walking is what you want to do, you really don't need a treadmill and use energy. That sounds quite ridiculous.Walking is a brilliant exercise. However it is very ineffective for losing weight. For losing weight we suggest a combination of jogging, running and weight training. If you have access to a treadmill in a gym, you are wasting your time by using it to walk. Use other equipment in the gym like the stationary bikes and weights, which are much more effective in burning fat and they are environment friendly too.
We strongly oppose using the treadmill even for warming up in the gym. A good warm up would consist of squats (without weights), spot jogging and jumping.
